This region \u2013 the part of the country he knows best \u2013 holds a very special place in his heart.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having spent a few years abroad, Yan returned to Mauritius in 2003 and soon rediscovered his love for outdoor adventure. In 2004, he founded Yanature, adopting an approach that is determinedly ecologically responsible: leading small groups of hikers, Yan takes pleasure in showing visitors Mauritius\u2019 green zone and some of its most beautiful mountains. Gradually, the company has added new guides to the team and expanded its horizons: Yanature now offers kayaking adventures as well as guided hikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yan de Maroussem has also been a key player in developing the local mountain running scene: in 2004, he and a few friends set up the island&#8217;s first trails. This was the starting point of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trekkingmauritius.com\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.trekkingmauritius.com\">Rando-Trail et Nature<\/a> league, which now boasts more than a thousand members!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2012, Yan completed one of his greatest sporting challenges: a run around the entirety of Mauritius. This feat left its mark on him both physically and mentally, and remains unequalled to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What about his future plans?
